WALTERS PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY MEETING

March 20, 2018

The Walters Public Works Authority met in regular session at 5:00 p.m. on March 20, 2018 in the City Council Chambers in the City Hall. Those present were Chairman David Mitchell; Vice Chairperson Roberta Ellis; Trustee Richard Anderson, Steve McCammon; City Manager Shawn Strange; City Clerk Sheri Davis and City Attorney Hyman Copeland. Trustee Bob Nance was absent.

Visitors present were Accounts Payable Clerk Karla Eschiti, Stephen Ford, Gerald Hayes, Garrel Gwoompi and Carrie Miller.

Item #3—Richard Anderson made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda. Roberta Ellis seconded the motion. The vote was:

Ayes: Mitchell, Ellis, Anderson, McCammon

Nays: None

(a) Approval of March 6, 2018 regular WPWA meeting minutes.

(b) Approval of purchase orders and signing of checks for all WPWA funds presented at the 3-20-18 WPWA meeting and ratification of routine checks subsequent to the 3-6-18 regular WPWA meeting.

Item #4— Garrel Gwoompi came to Council to ask if a one (1) day Honor Dance for Shelby Mata could be held on April 21, 2018. He is requesting trash cans and electric and water from the City. He stated there will be vendors, Garrel will be responsible for collecting the fees from them and paying the City. Council stated that Garrel needs to get with City Manager Strange to work out any other details. Steve McCammon made a motion to allow this one (1) day Honor Dance. Roberta Ellis seconded the motion. The vote was:

Ayes: Mitchell, Ellis, Anderson, McCammon

Nays: None

Item #5—Accounts Payable Clerk gave each Council member a Check register of all checks being signed tonight and City Clerk gave council the Cash report showing how much money is on the books after the checks tonight. City Manager Strange gave each Trustee a spreadsheet for WPWA of how we stand budget wise.

Item #6—New business, City Manager told Trustees he spoke with the Companies that gave us bids for the Radio Systems and they have a 1 year parts and labor warranty. Shawn told the Trustees we are having to work on the pump that controls the water pressure out west, and that it is due to lightning so we should be able to turn it in on insurance. We are getting bids to replace it. City Manager also told Trustees that we are having some trouble with pumps at the lagoons but we are on top of it.

Purchase orders were approved and the following checks signed.
