CHICKASHA, Okla. (February 13, 2018) – Republican and current Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb will be the next speaker in the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma’s Meet the Candidates series.
Starting at 7 p.m. on Feb. 20 in the USAO Ballroom, Lamb will present his platform and take questions from the audience in a forum that is free and open to the public.
Sponsored by the Nita R. Giles Public Policy Program, Meet the Candidates is bringing all of the contenders in Oklahoma’s 2018 gubernatorial election to the USAO campus for a short presentation of their politics and policies followed by a question and answer period.
“This series is an important opportunity for our students and our community to participate directly in our democracy,” said Dr. Kevin Crow, professor of history and series coordinator. “It allows them to personally engage with someone who will go on to have a very real impact on their lives, far beyond the typical soundbites we are bombarded with in political ads.”
The Nita R. Giles Public Policy Program is the only undergraduate program of its kind in Oklahoma and is specifically focused on producing graduates who have the skills and passion to help our state solve problems and ensure a sustainable future.
