WALTERS PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY MEETING

SEPTEMBER 20, 2016

The Walters Public Works Authority met in regular session at 5:00 p.m. on September 20, 2016 in the City Council Chambers in the City Hall.  Those present were Chairman David Mitchell; Vice Chairperson Roberta Ellis; Trustees Steve McCammon, Bob Nance and Richard Anderson; City Manager John Sheppard; City Attorney Hyman Copeland; and City Clerk Dollie Glenn.

 

Visitors  present were City of Walters Water Superintendent Wes Eidson, City of Walters Fire Chief Monty Powers and Cotton County Commissioner Edward Eschiti.

 

Item #3—Bob Nance made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda.   Richard Anderson seconded the motion.  The vote was:

Ayes:           Mitchell, Ellis, McCammon, Nance, Anderson

Nays:           None

  • Approval of September 06, 2016 regular WPWA meeting minutes.
  • Approval of purchase orders and signing of checks for all WPWA funds presented at the 09-20-16 WPWA meeting and ratification of routine checks subsequent to the 09-06-16 regular WPWA meeting.

 

Item #4—City Manager John Sheppard stated that this Ordinance is to create a new Rate Table and we added the User Type for the Special Electric Rate.    He stated that the rates were under RB, we just changed the table and type.    Richard Anderson made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 2016-553, an Ordinance for a Special Electric Service rate.  Steve McCammon seconded the motion. The vote was:

Ayes:           Mitchell, Ellis, McCammon, Nance, Anderson

Nays:           None

Richard Anderson made a motion to declare Ordinance No. 2016-553 an emergency.  Bob Nance seconded the motion.  The vote was:

Ayes:           Mitchell, Ellis, McCammon, Nance, Anderson

Nays:           None

 

Item #5—City Manager Sheppard stated that he does not have his expenses ready for trustee approval.  No action taken.

 

Item #6—City Clerk stated that the Accounts Payable clerk gave the trustees the Check Register listing all the checks to be signed at the meeting tonight. City Clerk gave the trustees the Cash Report and the August Financials for review.  No action taken.

 

Item #7—(a) Vice Chairperson Roberta Ellis informed the trustees that she had attended the OMPA Annual meeting in Edmond.  She stated that OMPA did a tribute to Buddy Veltema and it was very nice.  (b) City Manager Sheppard spoke on the Sustainability Conference to be held October 26th  and 27th in Ada.  There was no other new business.

 

Purchase orders were approved and the following checks signed.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned to go back into the regular session of the Walters City Council meeting.
