Governor Mary Fallin to Sign Four Criminal Justice Reform Bills
OKLAHOMA CITY – Governor Mary Fallin will sign four criminal justice reform bills during a public bill-signing ceremony is at 2 p.m. TODAY, Wednesday, April 27, in the Blue Room.
The bills are:
- House Bill (HB) 2472, which would give prosecutors discretion to file charges for non-85 percent crimes as misdemeanors instead of felonies.
- HB 2479, which would reduce the minimum mandatory punishment for drug offenders charged with only possession.
- HB 2751, which would raise the threshold for property crimes to be charged as a felony to $1,000.
- HB 2753, which would establish means for broader use of drug courts and community sentencing.
